Thank you so much for taking an interest in my fundraising page and supporting my passion for reaching out to those in need. One of my goals upon being a professional 9-6er is to volunteer my services in countries like Ghana, where native people are struggling with poverty in an ever decreasing economy and where education is limited. It is my hope that someday all people, especially those in underdeveloped countries, such as Ghana, can gain access to education, clean water and proper medical care thus improving their quality of life.
I will be traveling to Ghana with my dear friend Jessica, and with the Global Volunteers Program in hopes of making a difference. Through volunteering I will be able to experience a new culture and way of life while spending time with children and assisting them in their personal and educational development. As a volunteer I will be given many opportunities, from assisting in community development to helping in the educational classrooms.
The volunteer program alone is over $2500 not including my plane ticket and miscellaneous travel expenses. This may seem costly, but much of the money goes to help the people in Ghana and support projects to help educate the children there so that one day their lives can be better. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to “roll up my sleeves” and make a real difference in the lives of others, and for you to make a genuine difference as well through your financial contribution. I am very excited to be able to do this and can't wait to share this experience with fellow passionate volunteers. Being able to see the challenges faced everyday by people in different cultures and with different lifestyles than my own and to inspire others to reach out to the less fortunate is my lifelong goal.
